Sanctity of Human Life program set

BRODHEAD - The Care Net Pregnancy Center of Green County will host a celebration of the Sanctity of Human Life, at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 22 at the Living Word Church, 3825 South County Road T, Brodhead.

This year's program will feature the movie "Sarah's Choice," starring singer, songwriter and actress Rebecca St. James. Admission is free, but a free-will offering will be taken. Refreshments and a time of fellowship will follow the program.

The Care Net Pregnancy Center of Green County is a non-profit organization that strives to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and material needs of women and families experiencing crisis pregnancy situations. All services are free and confidential.

Monticello

Historical Society meeting, program is Jan. 27

MONTICELLO - The Monticello Historical Society will have a general meeting, at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27, at Zwingli Church North Room, Monticello.

Local historians John Oschner and Tom Fey will present information on Dr. Dodge, who resided in Sylvester Township near the Gap Church in the 1880s.

The program will be part of a 1958 interview tape made between Judge Roger Elmer and Dr. Dodges' 10-year-old houseboy, John Brandt. The meeting and program is open to the public.

Orangeville

Prom Committee to host supper Jan. 29

ORANGEVILLE - The Orangeville High School Prom Committee will host a spaghetti supper from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 29, in the high school cafeteria.

The prices are $6 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens, and children under 3 are free. The meal will include spaghetti with meat sauce, a salad with Italian dressing, applesauce, garlic bread, dessert, coffee, lemonade or water.

Free dental day offered Saturday

FREEPORT - FHN Family Dental Care will offer free dental care to uninsured and underinsured children ages 12 and under from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 22., at FHN Family Dental Care as part of the American Dental Association's Give Kids a Smile campaign.

The providers and staff of FHN Family Dental Care are offering free cleanings, exams, x-rays and fluoride treatments for children in need. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian; pre-registration is required and patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
