Brodhead

Church to host evening meal

BRODHEAD - An Evening at Bethany Lutheran will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 16529 W. Church Road in Brodhead.

A home-cooked meal will be served. Menu items include ham, potatoes, sweet potatoes, mixed vegetables, cranberry salad, dinner rolls and apple dessert.

A silent auction bidding will take place until 6:30 p.m.

Monroe's Del Heins will be performing during the dinner. A free-will offering will support the Mission Fund of Bethany Lutheran Church with a portion going to Family Promise of Green County.

Argyle

Norwegian dinner slated for Nov. 6

ARGYLE - The Yellowstone Lutheran Church annual family-style Norwegian Dinner will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Yellowstone Lutheran Church, 4472 Saints Road, Argyle.

The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for ages 5 to 12. The menu includes rommegrot, klub, Norwegian meatballs, lefse, fattigman, stroll and rosettes. For more information, call David Phillipson at (608) 543-3525.

Orangeville

ACT art and craft show is Nov. 19

ORANGEVILLE - The Orangeville A Community Together Group (ACT) will sponsor its fourth annual Home for the Holidays Art and Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Orangeville United Methodist Church, 111 South East St., Orangeville.

Proceeds from the event will go the Jane Addam's Trail Covered Bridge project.

Featured items include homemade breads, cookies, candies, woven rugs and jewelry. There will also be a silent auction and the Orangeville Cub Scouts will have a lunch stand.

Many businesses in town will also feature specials throughout the day.

South Wayne

Veteran's Day program is Nov. 11

SOUTH WAYNE - The Black Hawk School District will host a Veteran's Day program at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 in the gymnasium at the high school, 202 E. Center St..

The program is open to all veterans and members of the community. There will be selected readings and musical selections from elementary through high school students and groups.

The guest speaker will be Tim Schmid, Spec. 1158th Transportation Company, Beloit. After the program, there will be short programs at the South Wayne Veteran's Park and the Gratiot Park. For more information, contact the high school at (608) 439-5371.
