MONROE - Green County 4-H Cloverbuds, for youth in kindergarten through second grade, participated in the annual Foods Fair event April 7 at the Green County Justice Center. Youth were able to enter up to two items to be judged at the event.
Entries included decorated cookies, cupcakes and cakes, creative table place setting, nutritious snacks, decorated aprons, edible kids' art or an educational display.
The purpose of Foods Fair is to allow younger youth to learn and explore foods and nutrition topics and to receive positive and encouraging feedback from older 4-H youth, who act as the judges of this event. This year's youth judges were Ayden Bergemann, Ivy Horn, Abby Marty and Maggie Paul.
This year, 26 youth participated in Foods Fair: Mickaelynn Andrews, Peter Goers and Tess Lange, Washington Center; Madeline Austin, New Glarus 4-H; Kaylen Cassidy, Cheese Country Clovers; Adelaide Chell, Cassie Schultz and Josh Justeson, Dayton Dairylanders; Jaydon Clark, Hiawatha; Dylan Fiez, Isabella Johnson, Ayvah King, Lily Olsen, Spencer Rufer, Myka Rufer and Brandon Straws, Next Generation; Freya Haas and Kylie Saidat, Browntown Busy Beavers; Xzavier Hedlund, Mason Landphier and Emma Kopp, Jolly Mixers; Peyton Jordan, Spring Grove Honest Workers; Lennon Krattiger, Clarence Bridge Pioneers; Hudson Speth, York; and Ava Van Leuven and Barrett Berg, Young Americans.
