Bernard and Twyla (Leverton) Schafer will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married Sept. 30, 1951, at the Leverton Farm, Winslow.
They are the parents of Steve (Peggy) Schafer, Chadwick, Ill.; Russ (Lynette) Schafer, Rim Rock, Ariz.; Tracy (Ron) Hayden, Mesa, Ariz.; and Kyle (Amy) Schafer, Gilbert, Ariz. They also have eight grandchildren, as well as five great-grandchildren and are awaiting the births of two more great-grandchildren.
They will celebrate with a gathering from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the American Legion Hall, McConnell. In lieu of gifts, the couple requests attendees bring memories to share.
