ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Augustana students Laura and Kate Fry, both of Monroe, were honored recently at the Recognition of Student Honors Program.
The annual ceremony highlights exceptional students from various academic departments through scholarships and awards.
Laura, a senior, was awarded the Accounting Department Scholarship from the Accounting Department at Augustana College. She is majoring in business administration-finance.
Kate, a senior, was awarded the Accounting Department Scholarship from the Accounting Department at Augustana College. She is majoring in business administration-finance and accounting.
The scholarships were awarded from funds provided by alumni supporting the S. James Galley endowment and funds provided by former employees of Arthur Andersen.
PLATTEVILLE- Garrett Grinnell, Monroe, recently received a University of Wisconsin-Platteville Community Scholarship for Monroe High School through the UWP Foundation. The UW-Platteville Community Scholarship Program is designed to focus community support to the high school of a donor's choice. Grinnell will use this scholarship toward attending UWP in the fall.
Grinnell will be a freshman at UWP majoring in computer science. He is a 2010 graduate of Monroe High School and the son of Gene and Rita Grinnell, Monroe.
