Orville and Dorothy Swanson, former area residents, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary in Murray, Kentucky, where they currently reside, Sept. 8. 

The Swansons were married at the West Wiota Lutheran Parsonage near Woodford in 1954. Attendants were the late Wesley and Dorothea Meier. The couple farmed near South Wayne where their two children grew up prior to the family moving to Wickenburg, Arizona.

The couple has two grandsons and three great-grandchildren from their daughter Julie, who lives in Flagstaff, Arizona. Their son Edward resides in Murray, Kentucky, and is employed by Briggs and Stratton. 

No formal celebration is planned.
