To the Editor:

I would like to encourage all Green County voters to support Faun Marie Phillipson and vote for her in the upcoming Green County Circuit Court, Branch 1 Judge position, at the Spring Election on April 6, 2021.

I have known Faun for over 35 years, watching her graduate from the New Glarus school district and the UW-Madison system before completing law school in New York where she earned her law degree in 1999. I am so proud of Faun’s accomplishments as she is licensed both in New York (one of the most stringent bar exams in the country) and in Wisconsin. Faun has 20 years of a wide variety of court room experience (10 more years than her opponent) and would bring a well-rounded unique knowledge of seeing a variety of ways to problem solve.

Within my own Green County working experience in the health field, and current employment with the Department of Health Services, I see a unique characteristic of Faun as she conscientiously works with our elderly, the vulnerable and our youth within our communities. Many young people move away after graduating school or after marriage to see different parts of the country, world and cultures, but then also tend to return “home” to Green County where their roots began. Faun is a 5th generation Green County resident who has returned to our wonderful county to continue her love for the law and serving her community. I am so proud to know a well-grounded individual who serves her community by being a tutor for the Green County Literacy Council and coaches the New Glarus High School’s Mock Trial Program. Faun serves on the Board of Directors of The Bank of New Glarus and Sugar River Bank branches and previously served on the New Glarus Public Library Board, the boards of directors for the New Glarus Community Foundation and Swiss Center of North America. Faun has also volunteered with the Green County Family Law Clinic and taught Business Law at Blackhawk Technical College.   

Faun has impressed me with her admirable features of her honesty, her hard-working ethics and most of all the fact that she hasn’t solicited ANY political backing which upholds her principles that a judgeship is not a political position. I am asking that Green County Voters support the most qualified and experienced individual for Green County Circuit Court, Branch 1 Judge, which is Faun Marie Phillipson.
