To the editor:

We would like to compliment and thank the police officer and EMTs who responded to our 911 call after a bike accident with one of our friends Tuesday, Sept. 27 in Monroe. They were very professional and knowledgeable as they tended to our friend.

We would also like to publicly thank Sharon and Steve Streiff for being good Samaritans, helping us get all the bikes to the bike shop and then offered to take us back to New Glarus to get our car after this accident. The time we saved by not having to ride our bikes back was important because we soon learned our friend had to be taken to Madison via medical helicopter.

We have a wonderful impression of Monroe and its citizens because of their kindness and helpfulness. We will remember this and will "pay it forward."
