Thank you to the team of scientists who spent three months voluntarily compiling the report titled "Environment Human Health and Safety Risk to Water A Quality, and Natural Areas From Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs)."
This extensive report based upon scientific facts concerning the vulnerability of the citizens of Sylvester Township and Decatur Lake/Brodhead area to water and air pollution is disturbing but it cannot be denied. Credentialed scientists with many areas of expertise compiled it providing ample proof of the harm the proposed 5,000 cow CAFO could do as manure is spread over 7,000 surrounding acres.
Thank you to Monroe Clinic doctors and staff for providing information about present health concerns caused by already existing CAFOs in our area. Monroe Clinic Hospital promotes preventative health care as well as healing. We are fortunate to have a health care institution of this quality to support our community.
The challenge to provide scientific facts about the harm Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations can do has been met. Now it is up to Green County and Sylvester Township to use this information for the benefit of all. Our quality of life depends upon clean water and clean air. All the money in the world cannot replace them when they are gone.
