Question of the Day: Chicago snubbed; Obama, too?

I think most Americans had to be stunned this morning when Chicago was the first of four finalists dropped from contention for the 2016 Summer Olympics. It is interesting watching the coverage of the various cable news channels, as I suspect it will be for the next few days.

MSNBC and CNN are stunned, saying the decision couldn't have been a business move if Chicago was eliminated first. They're sort of hinting at the illegitimacy of the process. FOX News isn't hinting at anything. Just watched Republican strategist Brad Blakeman say President Obama made a mistake going to Denmark to lobby for Chicago. He said Obama lowered the prestige of the presidency, and in his last dig before the interview ended said the next president, a Republican, won't make the same mistake.

So my question of the day is:

What do you think it says about the city, about America, and about President Obama that the 2016 Olympics were not awarded to Chicago?
