DARLINGTON — With 18 top-three finishes between both squads, Monroe boys and girls took second at the Redbird Invite on Monday, May 8.
Darlington hosted 14 teams, including Monroe, Pecatonica-Argyle, Albany, Black Hawk and Monticello. Cuba City won both boys and girls divisions with 116 and 115 points, respectively.

Tisch, Toay set meet records at Fennimore
FENNIMORE — Darlington didn’t slow down, competing in the Fennimore Invitational on Tuesday, May 9. The Lady Redbirds took third with 89.50 points, while the boys finished fourth with 59 points. Host Fennimore won both boys and girls divisions with 123 and 147 points, respectively.
The Redbirds had two individual first-place finishes and two first-place relays. George West won both the 200-meter dash (24.39) and 400-meter dash (51.95). The girls 4x200 relay team — Niasia Niedziejko, Adalee Berget, Alexis Murray and Raquel Reuter — finished in 1:58.16 and the girls 4x400 relay team — Jaidyn Evenstad, Murray, Berget and Neidziejko — completed the race in 4:25.13.
Pecatonica-Argyle also competed in the event, finishing seventh for girls (38 pts) and eleventh for boys (39 pts). Anna Tisch set a new meet record in the 300-meter hurdles with time of 48.46, as did Ridge Toay in the 300-meter boys hurdles with a time of 39.81.
