PALMYRA - Micah Wallace would like to thank his defense.

Thanks to suffocating full-court pressure by his club, the Brodhead sharpshooter went off for 19 points during a 57-47 victory Monday in Palmyra-Eagle.

After trailing 13-9 through one quarter, the Cardinals (8-11, 4-9 Rock Valley) finally turned up the intensity in a 19-7 second.

"We knew their ballhandling was a little shaky, so we knew we had to press them," Brodhead coach Brian Kammerer said, "but for some reason we didn't really get on them til the second quarter."

The Panthers (2-16, 0-13) were led by Cory Fritz's 15 points.

The Cardinals hope to hand Edgerton, the league-leading club its second loss in as many Fridays when the Tide rolls in this Friday.
