T.J. Adams of Black Hawk: The senior scored 19 points, which included five 3-pointers in the Warriors' 53-44 season-opening win over Ithaca.
J.J. Panoske of Brodhead: The junior scored 25 points in the Cardinals' 58-47 win over Belleville. He scored seven points in a 45-30 loss to Monroe.
Tyler Ritschard of Monticello: The junior scored 17 points including a game-tying layup with two seconds left to send the season opener into overtime before the Knights would win it 59-55.
Area Girls
Sydney Bump of Albany: The junior scored 21 points in a 70-23 thrashing of Palmyra-Eagle.
Tanya Gruter of New Glarus: The senior scored 18 points to propel the Knights to a 54-45 season-opening win over Monticello.
Ellen Kiser of Juda: The sophomore scored 27 points in two games at the South Milwaukee Tournament. She just missed a triple double in the second place game against South Milwaukee as she finished with 12 points, 13 blocked shots and nine rebounds.
