Softball: Roberts tosses no-hitter

Monroe Optimists No. 1 scored eight runs over the first two innings and went on to an easy 15-1 win over Stockton in Red League action. Meghan Roberts tossed a no-hitter and struck out 11 while picking up the win. Jessica Beckman, Coree Lee and Paisley Bennett all had multi-hit days for Monroe.

In other Red League games, Orangeville defeated Monroe Optimists No. 2, 16-5 and Stillman Valley 10-5. The wins improved Orangeville's record in league action to 7-1. In the final Red League game, Stillman Valley edged Stockton 6-4.

In White League action, Kristin McArdle struck out 13 leading Monroe Optimists No. 3 to an 11-6 win over Juda. In other White League action, Monroe No. 4 defeated Pecatonica 17-0 and Argyle hung on to defeat Brodhead 5-4.
