Schmitt finishes 6th for SR

WHITEWATER - Sugar River finished the Mid-State Classic in 36th place with 29.5 points, one place ahead of Pecatonica-Argyle.

Ben Schmitt finished in sixth place after losing to Jefferson's Vince Raccenelli via forfeit. Schmitt lost in the consolation semifinals to Burlington's Joel Alvarez by injury default.

Kenosha Tremper edged out Burlington for the team title, 195-193. Harvard, Ill. finished third with 151 points. Thirty-nine teams in all participated in the tournament.
