LANCASTER - The Darlington-Cuba City girls golf team didn't win Thursday's meet at Lancaster, but the Redbirds came close.
Darlington-Cuba City posted a team score of 211, three strokes behind the Flying Arrows. The 211 was the Redbirds' best score at Lancaster Country Club in the past four years.
Nellie Black led Darlington-Cuba City with a nine-hole round of 48, including two pars. Ali McCauley carded a 49, also with two pars.
Rounding out the scoring golfers were Dani Larson with a 53 and Taylor Burke with a 61.
The Redbirds have rescheduled two postponed meets. The team will play Southwestern at Cole Acres Golf Club next Thursday. Darlington-Cuba City will make up a match Sept. 22 at Mount Horeb.
