NG dominates Pec, Monticello wins

NEW GLARUS - Junior Zach Feller drilled six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 31 points to lead the New Glarus boys basketball team to a 94-73 win over Pecatonica in a nonconference game Thursday.

New Glarus (6-0) made 13 three-pointers as a team. Senior Cullen Brooks added 17 points, junior Jaden Krelow had 16 points and junior Trevor Gassman pitched in 10. The Glarner Knights led 47-38 at the break.

Pecatonica junior Colton Schraepfer scored a team-high 25 points. Senior teammate Evan Prust added 16 points. Both Zach Eaton and Jaden Hendrickson had 11 points for the Vikings (5-2).



Benton 50, Argyle 45

ARGYLE - Benton picked up a non-conference win over Argyle Thursday night, 50-45.

Brent Ritschard scored a game-high 23 points for Argyle and teammate Gavin Johnson added 8. Benton (7-2), which was led in scoring by Brooks Tiedman (18), led at halftime 24-19.

The Orioles (1-6) are back in action Dec. 29 at Brodhead (3-4).



River Valley 68,

Juda 51

JUDA - River Valley's Connor Mickelson scored a game-high 27 points in a nonconference win Thursday.

Juda (3-5) cut River Valley's lead to 47-43 with 8 minutes left. The Blackhawks closed the game on an 18-6 run with all of their points coming from Mickelson.

Juda's Cole Fortney scored a team-high 14 points and senior Keagen Haffele added 10 points.



Monticello 61, Palmyra-Eagle 52

MONTICELLO - Senior Travis McCoy had 15 points and sophomore Reece Rufer had 14 to propel Monticello to a nonconference win.

Monticello junior Jeffrey Ace had 12 points and sophomore Simon Blohowiak chipped in 10 points.
