New Glarus boys edge Waterloo

NEW GLARUS - New Glarus senior Gavin Binger and freshman Zach Feller each scored 20 points and the Knights made some clutch free throws down the stretch to clip the Waterloo High School boys basketball team 65-61 on Thursday.

Waterloo took its first lead of the second half at 59-58 with 1 minute, 18 seconds to go. The Glarner Knights (13-7, 8-2 Capitol South) hit seven free throws down the stretch to hang on for the win. The Knights made 15 of 27 from the foul line in the game but connected when it mattered most.

New Glarus senior Trey Taylor added eight points, and senior Austin Schlueter chipped in seven points.

Waterloo's Wyatt Gallitz scored a game-high 28 points.
