Mowery, Sathoff earn cheers

MONROE - Rookie demolition derby driver, Dr. Lance Sathoff, Monroe, finished in second place during the Sunday Night Feature event at the Green County Fairgrounds.

Sathoff and champion Michael Mowery roused the crowd with a drawn out one-on-one close to the derby. Any car that could start by the evening feature was allowed to participate.

Mowery also took top honors in the evening Full Size No. 1 event, the afternoon Feature and afternoon Big Car No. 2 event.

David Widmer won the afternoon Mid-Size and evening Figure 8. Elliot Drain was second in the afternoon Mid-Size and Josh Goebel was third.

Jeremy Gutzmer and Thomas Mowery tied for first in the afternoon Big Car No. 1 event. Brandon Penniston took third and Paul Bunnell was fourth.

Bradley Bertalot tied Michael Mowery for first in the afternoon No. 2 Big Car event with Mark Figi taking third and Jeffery Ballard fourth.

Crae Riese won the afternoon Compact event with Randal Gutzmer and Dixie Schmid taking second and third, respectively.

Bertalot took second and Gutzmer was third in the afternoon Feature.

Patrick Graham tied Michael Mowery for the top spot in the evening Full Size No. 1 event. Steven Gilbertson was third.

Jeromy Ballard and Bertalot won the Full Size No. 2 evening event and Jeff Ballard was third.

Caleb Riese won the Mini Car with Tyler Briggs and Daniel Borhart taking second and third, respectively.
