DODGEVILLE - The Monticello boys basketball team dropped a high-scoring non-conference game 77-71 to Dodgeville Monday.

The Ponies jumped out to a 16-13 lead after the first quarter. However, the Ponies trailed 34-27 at halftime.

"I thought we would be able to score," Monticello coach Mark Olson said. "I was concerned if we would be able to stop them. They are tall and have good athletes."

Monticello senior Tyler Ritschard scored a game-high 32 points and made three 3-pointers to lead the Ponies. Fellow senior Corey McGowan scored 16 points and hit four 3-pointers and senior Chris Voegeli added 11.
