PLATTEVILLE - The Monroe girls swimming team finished seventh at the Hillmen Invitational Saturday, Oct. 26.

The Cheesemakers' 400-yard relay team of Skylar Lassen, Anna Meritt, Abby Oudinot and Angie Beaver finished eighth with a time of 4 minutes, 17.10 seconds. The same quartet took ninth in the 200 relay (1:58.2).

"We swam with a lot more energy today than we did last Saturday at Fort Atkinson," Monroe coach Linda Moser said. "Collectively the girls swam better today. We also got a look of several of the teams we will swim with at sectionals. It is once again going to be a very fast, competitive sectional meet at Baraboo."

The best individual finish for the Cheesemakers was Meritt, who finished 12th in the 200 freestyle (2:18.84).

Monroe now prepares for the badger Conference meet at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1 at Fort Atkinson.
