Monroe-Platteville game suspended

MONROE - The Monroe Brewers rallied to tie the game against Platteville at 7 in the eighth inning of a Thursday Home Talent Night League game before the game was suspended due to darkness.

The game will pick up in the top of the ninth inning, when the Brewers play at Platteville in a Sunday league game on June 26. With the Brewers trailing 7-5 in the bottom of the eighth, Taylor Riese reached on an error. Kramer Henning and Kyle Klopfenstein both walked to load the bases. Monroe graduate Mitch Marty, who went 2 for 4 with three RBIs, walked to cut Platteville's lead to 7-6.

Brewers co-player manager Rooney Janecke then worked ma full count before walking to tie the game at 7.

Brewers co-player manager Lon Scheuerell helped the Brewers jump out to an early lead with an RBI single in the third. With the Brewers trailing 5-2 in the fourth, Marty delivered a two-run single to cut Platteville's lead to 5-4. Monroe alum Jake Teasdale came through with a clutch RBI single in the seventh to tie the game at 5.

Teasdale pitched the first four innings and gave up five earned runs on five hits. He struck out two and walked five. Adam Francour pitched four innings in relief and gave up two earned runs on three hits. He struck out two and walked one.
