DECORAH, Iowa - Six of the seven runners on the Monroe girls cross country team turned in season best times at the Luther College All-American Invitational Saturday.

The Luther College Invite in Decorah, Iowa featured some of the top cross country teams from Iowa and Minnesota.

Monroe sophomore Abby Rogerson smashed her season best time by more than a minute running the race in 17 minutes, 35 seconds to take 50th place. Sophomore Lizzy Dale took 55th with a time of 17:37. Junior Molly Hlubek finished 56th (17:39) and Nicole Witt was 71st (18:12).

"This was a positive race for our team, but we still have a lot of ground to make up," Monroe coach Brian Jefferson said.

Senior Rachel Rogerson finished 73rd place (18:21), Kortney Pippenger took 78th (18:36) and Chelsea Haffele was 79th (18:41).

Monroe will run at the Badger Challenge in Portage today.

"It will be interesting to see how the Iowa group rebounds to run our race on Tuesday," Jefferson said. "Two meets in four days is one heck of a workout."
