The Monroe Youth Hockey Bantams team showed off their teamwork, strong passing and skating skills in Rockford, Ill. and Beloit this weekend.
On Saturday, the team traveled to Rockford, leaving with a win of 8-3 over the Rockford Hockey Club. Eric Bush scored a hat trick in the game, along with two goals apiece for Matt Hodgson and Jason Johnson and a single goal for Daniel Gerhard. Assists were made by Johnson, Gerhard, Johnny Kallgren and Adam Guy. Goalie Jess Hager had 24 saves for the game.
Sunday night, the Bantams had a victory of 9-3 against the Beloit Blades. Daniel Gerhard scored a hat trick in the 1st period for a total of four goals for the game. Additional goals were made by Jason Johnson for two goals, Ethan Studer, Chase Hellenbrand and Jake Trickel each made a goal during the game. Assists were made by Johnson, Johnny Page, and Chase Hellenbrand. Goalie Jess Hager had 14 saves for the game.
