MONROE — The WIAA announced the baseball matchups for the upcoming postseason, which starts May 23.
Division 2
Monroe received a No. 6-seed and will travel to Evansville for a first-round game. Earlier this season, the Blue Jays won a rain-shortened game in Monroe 2-1.
The Cheesemakers have struggled this season, but have found themselves competing deeper into games than in many years past.
The winner will play with Stoughton or second-seeded McFarland May 28.
Division 3
Brodhead-Juda received a No. 3 seed and will host New Glarus in Round 1.
Earlier this season, the Cardinals dominated the Glarner Knights 12-0 in New Glarus.
The winner will take on either Clinton or No. 2-seed Parkview. Belleville received the No. 1 seed. The doubleheader sectional, slated for June 4, will be held at Brodhead.
Division 4
Argyle received a No. 5 seed and will travel to Southwestern in Round 1. The winner will get top-seeded and second-ranked Mineral Point in the regional semifinal.
Pecatonica, ranked sixth, is the No. 3 seed in the Johnson Creek sectional. The Vikings will host Darlington.
Black Hawk picks up the 7-seed and will travel to second-seeded and No. 3-ranked Shullsburg-Benton.
Monticello-Albany, a 6-seed, goes to Six Rivers rival Barneveld for a first round game.
The loaded Johnson Creek sectional has five of the top-10 teams in the state within its ranks.
