The WIAA began releasing the baseball tournament regional brackets this week.
In Division 2, Monroe was picked as the No. 4 seed and will host McFarland in the second round June 14. The winner will get either Whitewater, Big Foot or top-seeded Jefferson in the regional final June 16. Sectional semifinals will be June 21 with locations yet to be determined,. The sectional final is June 23 at Big Foot.
In Division 3, Monticello-New Glarus will travel to Viroqua in the opening round June 9. The winner will play at Dodgeville in the regional semifinal.
Brodhead is seeded third and will host Lancaster in the second round. The winner of Dodgeville and Brodhead semifinals will meet in the regional championship June 16. The eventual sectional final will be at Prairie du Chien.
In Division 4, third-ranked Juda-Albany was seeded fourth in its regional, with Racine Lutheran grabbing the No. 1 seed, Johnson Creek the No. 2 and Deerfield the No. 3. Juda-Albany will host Kenosha St. Joseph in the second round and will likely face top-ranked Racine Lutheran in the regional championship.
Further down the bracket, Darlington is the No. 9 seed and will travel to 8-seed Fennimore June 9. The winner will face Boscobel in the second round.
The sectional championship will be at Boscobel.
As of press time, the Division 5 sectional brackets that will include Pecatonica, Argyle and Black Hawk had yet to be released.
