NEW GLARUS — Glarner Knights freshman Lindsey Schadewalt scored a career-high 31 points as New Glarus took care of business against Potosi-Cassville 64-44 in a nonconference game Feb. 1.
Schadewalt finished 5 of 9 from beyond the arc and 12 of 18 from the field. She’s averaging 15 points per game this season and is shooting 44.9% from deep.
Senior Jaylynn Benson, the program’s all-time leading scorer, added 14 points, while sophomore Grace Nommensen had 9. Anna Kartman led Potosi-Cassville with 14 points, and Lilly Post added 11.
Black Hawk 88, Pecatonica 39
BLANCHARDVILLE — The top-ranked Warriors capped its regular season with another emphatic win over a Six Rivers East opponent.
Black Hawk (17-0) led Pecatonica () 55-19 at halftime. Bailey Butler and Kaylee Marty each had 26 points for the Warriors. Butler added 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals, while Marty had 5 assists. Tara Wellnitz tallied 12 rebounds and added 7 points.
The Warriors canceled their game the next night against Darlington due to COVID-19 concerns. Black Hawk is riding a win streak of 71 straight games dating back to the start of the 2018-19 season. The streak is the third longest in state history. The Warriors have an opening round bye in the WIAA Division 5 playoffs, and are expected to host the winner of Pecatonica and Argyle.
Albany 56, Deerfield 31
ALBANY — The Comets improved to 15-2 on the year with a nonconference victory against Deerfield Feb. 2.
Briana Dahl led Albany with 14 points, while Jada Flannery had 12 and Payton Wachholz 10.
The Comets led 31-14 at halftime. Albany is ranked second in the state in Division 5 in the most recent Associated Press poll, and third in the WisSports.net Coaches Poll.
In other area action, Darlington lost a close game at Cuba City Feb. 1, 42-35, and on Feb. 2, Barneveld defeated Pecatonica 63-52.
