Riemer, Arn, Fish’s top-three finishes guide Cardinals

McFARLAND — The Brodhead-Juda track team traveled to McFarland on Tuesday, April 11 for a Rock Valley meet, where nine Cardinals took first.

Kalena Riemer had two first-place finishes on the girls end. She won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:32.3 and worked with Danica Dewrow, Olivia Hartwig and Madi Brown to take first in the 4x200 relay. The squad finished in 1:58.3.

Stella Arn sprinted to two top-three finishes. She won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.9 seconds and took second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.8 seconds.

Kirsten Fish dominated in the field, taking first in the discus with a distance of 109 feet, 10 inches. She took third in the shot with a throw of 29-01.5. Onni Williams won that event, recording a throw of 34-09.5. 

Addison Yates was the fifth female individual winner, leaping 16-05.00 in the long jump.

The girls accumulated 44 points for third place. McFarland and Clinton tied with 51 points.

The boys had three winners in Nathan Engen, Blake Matthys and Leon Saunders. 

Engen ran the 300-meter hurdles in 44.8 seconds. In the field, Matthys recorded a throw of 45-11.00 in the shot put, and Saunders leaped a distance of 20-01.00 in the long jump.

The boys collected 31 points for third. McFarland won the invite with 78 points.
