PRAIRIE DU CHIEN — Darlington was fourth in the WIAA Division 2 girls regional golf tournament in Middleton, then finished seventh at the Prairie du Chien Sectional Oct. 3.
Edgewood won the sectional with a score of 351, with Osseo-Fairchild/Fall Creek (403) also advancing. Darlington (471) was two strokes ahead of eighth-place Black River Falls at the par 72 Prairie du Chien Country Club course.
Edgewood’s Grace Welch was the individual medalist with an 8-over-par 80. Darlington senior Marissa Gould was the top finisher for the Redbirds, taking 15th overall with a 103, eight shots behind the individual qualifying mark to advance to state.
Senior Maggie Nordquist shot a 106 for Darlington, while teammates sophomore Josie Thomas (130), junior Payton Gratz (132) and junior Brianna Gaviniski (144) also participated in the sectional.
