Raiders open with blowout, Juda 1-2 at volleyball quad

DODGEVILLE — The Raiders opened the season with an 8-0 thumping over Dodgeville-Mineral Point on Aug. 23.

Aiden Hatleberg scored a mesmerizing five goals for Sugar River — four in the first half, and one more 10 minutes into the second half. Jack Leonard, Tikeh Tazeh and Kiehme Tazeh also scored for the Raiders. Brady Mousseau, Nathan Hendrickson and Jack Douma each had at one assist. Leonard and Tikeh Tazeh each had two assists.

Sugar River led 6-0 at halftime. Clayton Streiff finished the game with seven saves for the Raiders.


Volleyball

Juda 1-2 at Quad

MADISON — The Panthers opened the season at the Aug. 23 Madison Abundant Life Quad. Juda went 1-2 on the day.

Against Madison Christian Day School, the Panthers won 25-17, 25-19 thanks to “strong serving by junior Grace Gold and senior Ciarrah Davis,” said coach Pam Green.

Juda lost to Abundant Life 8-25, 22-25, then fell to Heritage Christian 17-25, 14-25.
