BELLEVILLE — The Sugar River Raiders outshot Lodi 31-8 in the game, which led to an 11-2 finish Sept. 2 in a Capitol Conference matchup.
Aiden Hatleberg opened the scoring at the 4:06 mark in the first half. Lodi equalized at 9:19, but the match quickly got out of hand after that.
Carter Siegenthaler made it 2-1 Sugar River at the 11:52 mark, and Hatleberg scored a second goal with Ryan Hagen assisting at 22:31. Ryan Downing then scored back-to-back goals in the 24th and 29th minutes to made it 5-1. Hatleberg netted his hat trick goal at the 30:17 mark with Siegenthaler assisting. Kiehmi Tazeh made it 7-1 Raiders eight minutes later. Connor Pecard scored his second Lodi goal with a minute to go before halftime.
In the second half, Downing joined Hatleberg in the hat-trick club with a score at 47:44, but Hatleberg one-upped his teammate with a fourth goal in the 51st minute. Brady Mousseau scored at 67:02, with Brycen Teasdale assisting. Sugar River’s Josh Potter capped the final goal just 46 seconds later.
Cam Kleiboer had four saves in net for the Raiders, while Clayton Streiff had three saves.
The Raiders are 2-0-1 on the season and travel to face Lakeside Lutheran Sept. 9.
Monroe’s scheduled game the same night against Big Foot was postponed just hours before the opening whistle. The Cheesemakers (0-1-2) are coming off a 5-5 draw with Portage-Poynette in which senior forward Luis Torres have four goals and an assist. Monroe was slated to be on the road Sept. 7 at Milton, then at Reddan Soccer Park in Fitchburg to face Madison Edgewood.
