WHITEWATER — Sugar River, ranked No. 10 in Week 1 of the WisSports.net Coaches Poll, opened its season with a 7-1 win over Whitewater on Saturday, April 6.

Junior Anya Brenkman, who broke the program record for goals in a season last year, picked up right where she left off with four goal in Saturday’s affair. Bella Brenkman, Kylie Humke and Hannah Boldebuck also got in on the scoring with their own goals.

Addison Lutz and Savanna Minter split time in net, where Minter let up one goal with one save.
