Monroe drops game to LM; Raiders tie MH

MONROE — The Cheesemakers dropped to 0-14-1 on the season with a 4-3 nonconference loss to Lake Mills May 14 at Honey Creek Park.

The L-Cats took a 2-1 lead into halftime, and both teams traded a pair of goals.

Anika Einbeck, Alexa Bader and Zoee Pond all scored for Monroe, which put just four shots on goal in the game. Ava Stelter had a hat trick for Lake Mills, with Julia Dandoy adding another.

Monroe keeper Anna Latimer had 11 saves in net.

The Cheesemakers had their final conference game scheduled game May 16 at Fort Atkinson, then return for a pair of nonconference home games May 20 and 21 against Janesville Parker and Edgerton. A nonconference game at Big Foot May 23 will cap the regular season slate.


Sugar River 0, Mount Horeb 0

BELLEVILLE — The eighth-ranked Raiders ran to a scoreless draw against the Vikings in a nonconference game May 14. 

It was the 15th time in 18 games this season that Sugar River (13-1-4) held an opponent scoreless. The Raiders have allowed just one goal in their last 15 games, dating back to April 5.

Rachael Heittola stopped four Mount Horeb shots, while the Vikings fended off just three Sugar River shots on goal.

The Raiders were scheduled to play a pair of conference games May 16 and 17 against Watertown Luther Prep and Lakeside Lutheran. A May 21 date with Wisconsin Heights-Barneveld is the last scheduled Capitol Conference match, and a nonconference game against DeForest May 23 will close out the regular season.
