MONROE — The Cheesemakers dropped a tough game 13-2 on Feb. 3 to No. 4 Madison Edgewood at SLICE.

The Crusaders (18-3, 9-0 Badger West) scored the first three goals of the game before Monroe could get on the board on a goal by Josh Haight, who was assisted by Seth Brandt. Edgewood led 5-1 after the first period.

Brandt scored 11 seconds into the second period, but it was the last score of the game for Monroe, as Edgewood scored eight unanswered goals the rest of the way.

Edgewood out-shot Monroe 53-8. Monroe goalie Kyle Theorin had 40 saves.

Up next for Monroe (2-18, 0-9) is a home game against Sauk Prairie (13-3, 5-3) on Feb. 7, with the regular season finale Feb. 11 at home against DeForest.
