BARABOO — Monroe-New Glarus finished sixth of eight teams at the Badger West Conference meet last season, but the self-named Cheese Knights’ second-place finish at the Badger Relays on Tuesday, Aug. 29 suggests a better 2023 season.
Two relays took first place — 4x100 individual medley and 400 freestyle — while another seven finished in the top three. The 400 medley, 500 freestyle, junior-senior, 4x25 freestyle, 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly relays all claimed second, and the 200 medley relay finished third.
Edgewood won the event with 210 points. Monroe-New Glarus followed with 154 points, and host Baraboo took third with 124 points.
