WISCONSIN RAPIDS — Brodhead-Juda sophomore Madelynn McIntyre shaved more than 30 seconds off her sectional time and finished 13th overall in the WIAA Division 2 state meet Oct. 27 at The Ridges Golf Course. It was the highest placement in program history for the Cardinals.

McIntyre finished with a time of 19:31.8, just 18 seconds out of a top-10 placement. Denmark senior Leah Kralovetz won the meet with a blistering 17:46.7, and Southwestern-Cuba City freshman Kayci Martensen was third (18:31.6).

A year ago, McIntyre was 19th at the state meet (20:09.6) in just her first year of competitive racing. At this year’s sectional meet Oct. 20, McIntyre shaved nearly five seconds off that mark (20:04.8).

Medford won the team title with 106 points, slightly ahead of Freedom (115) and Green Bay Notre Dame (118).
