East, West split in Six Rivers All-Star Games

BELMONT — The best of the best in the Six Rivers Conference battled it out in the 18th annual All-Star Basketball Games June 21. The East girls prevailed, and the West boys won resulting in a split.

With two state-qualifying teams on its side — including Division 5 champions Albany-Monticello — the East girls won 56-49. Six Rivers East Player of the Year Alana Durtschi was one of four players to score in double figures with 11 points. Avary Briggs led the squad with 14 points, Anna Tisch chipped in 11 points and Isabella Sullivan scored 10 points.

With five players in double figures, the West boys beat the East 87-53. Ryer Indergand led the East with 15 points, followed by Tyler McKeon with eight. Six Rivers East Player of the Year Kasey Helgeson chipped in seven points.

Since the games’ inception in 2006, the conference has raised over $25,000 for UW Children’s Hospital. This year, the event gathered $2,364.
