Buschor’s double-double lifts Darlington

DARLINGTON — Darlington defeated Platteville 73-66 behind Broker Buschor’s double-double on Thursday, Nov. 30. The Redbirds, ranked No. 1 in Division 4, overcame a four-point deficit at halftime to outscore the Hillmen 41-30 in the second half.

Buschor scored 10 points with a team-high 13 rebounds. Another three Redbirds finished in double figures — Will Murray (26), Reagan Jackson (16) and Brady Long (14). Darlington shot 74% from the free-throw line.

ELKHORN 77, MONROE 68

ELKHORN — In their season opener, the Cheesemakers grabbed a 6-0 lead before falling to the Elks on Friday, Nov. 30. Monroe’s energy fizzled out the rest of the half, as the team scored just 17 points. Although the Cheesemakers outscored the Elks 51-42 in the second period, Elkhorn had too great of a lead.

James Seagreaves led the team with 21 points, followed by Logan Taylor with 18 points. Ryan Mathiason grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds. 

ALBANY 53, BELMONT 31; HIGHLAND 46, ALBANY 30

ALBANY — The Comets split their first two games of the season. In Albany’s season-opening win over Belmont, Ty Durtschi scored 14 points. Kaden Zurfluh, who scored eight points, grabbed a team-best eight rebounds. 

Albany then fell to Highland on Saturday, despite just a two-point deficit at halftime. Zurfluh paced the Comets with 13 points. Tyler Patchen snagged seven rebounds.
