SOUTH WAYNE — Black Hawk sophomore Bailey Butler announced via social media Tuesday that she received a college basketball scholarship to the University of Wiscon-sin-Green Bay.
“I am humbled to announce that I have received my first Division 1 offer from UW-GREEN BAY,” Butler wrote on Twitter. “I would like to thank my parents and @Coach_Flanagan (Mike Flanagan) for helping me take one step closer to my dream of playing college basketball.”
Butler averaged 15.5 points, 3.7 assists and 4.1 steals per game in teaming with her junior sister, Hannah Butler, and junior Natalie Leuzinger to lead Black Hawk to a 28-1 record and a WIAA Division 5 state runner-up finish.
Bailey Butler and Leuzinger both were named to the WBCA all-state Division 5 team.
