Badger Conf. releases yearly all-conf. awards

MONROE — The Rock County Fury lit up the Badger all-conference teams, snagging three of the six first-team spots as well as a second-team and honorable mention.

Monroe senior Cammi Ganshert, Monroe sophomore Anika Einbeck and Albany sophomore Alyssa Knauf were each named to the first-team. 

Ganshert, a defenseman, finished the season with two goals and eight assists. Einbeck, a forward had 32 points on the year — 21 goals and 11 assists — while Alyssa Knauf, also a forward, finished with 33 points on 16 goals and 17 assists.

Albany junior Haley Knauf was a second-team forward, capping her campaign with 11 goals and 22 assists for the conference champion Fury.

Both Knaufs finished tied for the conference lead in total points (33), while Einbeck was second (32). Einbeck’s 21 goals led the league.

Beloit freshman goalie Olivia Cronin was honorable mention, stopping 91.5 percent of the 503 shots she faced in net. Cronin had three shutouts. Viroqua’s Abigail Severson was the only unanimous first-team selection, finishing with a .939 save percentage on 759 shots.

In boys hockey, Monroe junior Payton Stauffacher earned first-team all-conference honors in the Badger South this season for the Monroe boys co-op hockey team. Fellow junior Heath Bear was honorable mention at goalie.

Stauffacher led the Cheesemakers with 24 points on nine goals and 15 assists. His 24 points were 12th in the league. Bear had a .908 save percentage on 753 shots on goal in 23 games.
