ARGYLE — Max Godfrey and Will Helfvogt combined for a one-hit Six Rivers crossover victory on May 10, giving Argyle-Black Hawk its first win of the 2024 season.
Godfrey got the start and pitched 6 1/3 innings of one-hit ball. He struck out 16 of 22 batters faced and walked just one. Helfvogt recorded the final two outs, one via strikeout.
The duo were key players at the plate, going a combined 5-for-6 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Mitchell Johnson also tallied a multiple-hit game, going 2-for-3 with a run scored.

POTOSI — With six hits from the top three batters in their lineup, the Vikings defeated the Chieftains in a Six Rivers Conference crossover game on May 10.
Tyler McKeon, Jameson Johnson and Elijah Knutson went a combined 6-for-14 with a double, two RBIs and four runs scored. Carson Kurschner and Grady Gordon added speed to the basepaths, stealing five total bases.
Johnson pitched a complete game three-hitter for the No. 9 Vikings. He gave up one earned run and struck out 13 batters.

HIGHLAND — The Ponies suffered a Six Rivers Conference crossover sweep on May 10.
In the opener, Tyler Constantini was the lone Pony standing in the way of a no-hitter for Cardinal starting pitcher John Dreischmeier. Brayden Bakken and Aidan Brewer were the only other base runners, reaching via walk and hit by pitch, respectively.
Bakken suffered the loss, giving up two earned runs on seven hits.
In the nightcap, Highland put up crooked numbers in the third and fifth innings for the win. Leadoff batter Bakken was not retired in four plate appearances, tallying two hits and drawing two walks. Second baseman Andrew Thoman drove in two runs.
Tyler Patchen was charged with the loss, giving up nine runs on 11 hits.
BRODHEAD-JUDA 3,

BRODHEAD — The Cardinals won their third walk off of the season with an RBI single from David Masloske in the bottom of the seventh in an RVC game on May 10. Evan Senobe led off the inning with a double, and Gabe Bockhop was intentionally walked to put a force at all bases.
Brodhead-Juda had six hits from six different players and drew five walks. Masloske, Max Pinnow and Tyrin Foster drove in runs.
Relief pitcher Sam Searls earned the win, throwing one inning of one-hit ball. Senobe got the start and pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings.

WHITEWATER — The Cardinals and Cheesemakers may have been feeling deja vu on May 11, splitting a doubleheader at UW-Whitewater. Last season, Monroe and Brodhead-Juda also split their doubleheader at UWW.
In the opener, Gabe Bockhop was a homerun from the cycle, going 4-for-4 with one RBI and three runs scored. David Masloske and Clayton Elliott tallied multiple hits and drove in two runs apiece. Sam Sears earned the win, giving up one earned run on four hits. Elliott collected the save.
Monroe’s Eli Schaefer went 2-for-3 with a run scored, accounting for half of the Cheesemakers’ hits. Keegan Dahmen suffered the loss, giving up five six runs on nine hits.
In the nightcap, Monroe outhit Brodhead-Juda 12-6 and took advantage of seven Cardinal errors. Logan Meier led the offense, going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Ashton Hale and Ethan Rosenstiel also recorded multiple-hit games. Marcus Ott picked up the win, giving up one run on three hits. He struck out three and didn’t issue a walk.
Ryan Searls paced Brodhead, going 2-for-3 with a double and RBI. Kohen Sawle suffered the loss, giving up five runs on 10 hits. He struck out eight and walked two.

EDGERTON — The Glarner Knights are back on the right track, finishing first in the Edgerton Tournament May 11. Since its three-game skid, New Glarus has won its last three games.
In the opener, Ashlin Mihlbauer and Landon Steleter went a combined 7-for-9 with a double, one run scored and 10 RBIs. Matt Roth, Nathan Hendrickson and Jake Roth also had multiple-hit games.
Nolan Julseth picked up the win, giving up one run on four hits.
In the championship game, New Glarus drew 11 walks. Pitch selection made up for four errors in the field and just two hits all game.
Matt Roth and Stelter tallied the hits, while Julseth, Hendrickson, Braden Rear and Zander Hauser drew two walks each.
Leyton Mihlbauer earned the win, giving up two runs on seven hits.
In other local baseball, Darlington downed Southwestern in a pair of run-rule SWAL games on May 10. The Redbirds won 14-1 and 11-0 over the Wildcats.
