JUDA — For the first time in 20 years, the Albany Comets are conference champions. The program celebrated the feat after a 77-23 no-doubt victory over Juda in the regular season finale Feb. 17. Albany shares the title with Black Hawk, which has now won the league for six straight seasons.
Albany wasted no time against Juda, jumping out to a 45-12 lead by halftime. Senior Brianna Dahl, the all-time leading scorer in program history, scored 11 points in the first half and finished with a game-high 17.
Sophomore Alana Durtschi added 13 points for Albany, with fellow sophomore Avery Briggs scoring 12, senior Payton Wachholz tallying 11, and Abby Hollis finishing with nine.
Juda was led in scoring by Anna Skoumal, who had 10 points. Ciarrah Davis added six.
Brodhead 50, Edgerton 29
BRODHEAD — The Cardinals closed out the regular season finale with a strong second half, putting away the Crimson Tide on Feb. 17.
Junior forward Abbie Dix scored 18 points to lead Brodhead, and in doing so joined teammate Kiarra Moe in the 1,000-point club.
Brodhead went up 19-11 after one half of play, then outscored Edgerton 31-18 in the second half.
Moe finished the night with 11 points, and Alexis Kammerer added 11.
Black Hawk 48, Pecatonica 38
SOUTH WAYNE — The Warriors secured their sixth straight conference championship on Feb. 17 with a win over the Vikings.
Black Hawk held a 1-point advantage at halftime, 20-19, but pulled away down the stretch.
Tara Wellnitz scored 14 points to lead the way, with Tatum Baumgartner and Raylin Peterson scoring 13 each.
Black Hawk has just one conference loss dating back to the 2016-17 season.
In other area season-finale action from Feb. 17, Monroe scored its second win of the year, defeating Portage 65-60, while Darlington won its seventh straight game with a 47-21 victory at Riverdale. Monticello lost to Barneveld 55-42.
