MONROE — Payton Stauffacher was named second-team all-conference in the Badger South for his efforts this past season.
Stauffacher, a junior, hit .297 in conference play and drew six walks and a hit by pitch and drove in nine in 14 games. In his best game, Stauffacher went 3 for 5 at the dish with a run, a triple and four RBIs against Stoughton on May 4.
Monroe seniors Michael Lange and Trevor Meier were honorable mention, as was junior Jared Dillon.
Madison Edgewood senior Thomas Hartlieb was the conference player of the year, while Monona Grove senior Michael Zande was the league’s top pitcher.
NG scores six all-conf. honors
NEW GLARUS — The Glarner Knights had six players receive postseason awards in the Capitol South Conference for baseball.
A trio of sophomores were named to the second team — infielder Darris Schuett, outfielder Cooper Dreyfus and utility man Peyton Mendleski.
Junior catcher Payton Siegenthaler was honorable mention, while sophomore infielder Ben Melvin and sophomore outfielder Nathan Streiff were also named to the honorable mention squad.
Belleville’s Jaydon Winkers was the league Player of the Year. Belleville had four players named to the first team, two to the second and another was honorable mention. Cambridge also had seven players honored.
