MADISON — Former Badger basketball player Sydney Hilliard recently announced on social media that she accepted a role as a trainer with RIT Performance Skills Lab.

“As you may have seen, I have accepted a new role with RIT to become the head skills development trainer,” Hilliard said, introducing herself on the ritperformance Instagram page. “RIT is the best basketball training program Wisconsin has to offer, and I’m excited to get on board.”

RIT, founded by Ricky Landais, is a basketball training facility in Madison. Landais, from Fall River, Massachusetts, played three years of basketball at Lasell Univeristy before moving to Wisconsin. Through his program, Landais has trained over 100 Division I athletes and over 20 NBA players.

Hilliard, a Monroe graduate, played four seasons with the UW-Madison women’s basketball team, earning Honorable Mention All-Big Ten, Academic All-Big Ten and Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week honors. In her Badger career, Hilliard averaged 11.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.
