Glarner Knights leave a glaring impression

NEW GLARUS - The Glarner Knights made sure to leave a lasting impression with Pecatonica.

After coming back from a 19-16 halftime deficit, New Glarus straightened its shots out and blew past Pecatonica with a 19-8 fourth quarter and a 52-37 non-conference victory Saturday night.

Logan Lockard, Jake Bast and Jeremy Langfoss had 10 points apiece to lead New Glarus (7-7 overall). The Vikings' Brandon Meudt - who hit two of Pecatonica's (6-7 overall) six 3-pointers - led all scorers with 17 points.

The Glarner Knights welcome Wisconsin Heights to their home floor for a Capitol South Conference matchup Tuesday.

Abundant Life 69, Albany 66

Albany didn't bring enough ammunition to the shootout with the Chargers.

Abundant Life led by 15 points at the half, 38-23, when the Comets' shooters came to life although their efforts fell short, 69-66, at home.

Adam Zurfluh had 23 points - including two 3-pointers - to lead all scorers. Tyler Bauman had 16 points, playing second offensive fiddle for the Comets.

Albany hosts Argyle in Six Rivers East play Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Black Hawk 62,

Wauzeka-Steuben 48

Black Hawk's Joey Hartwig, Taylor Goodman and Michael Place had no lingering effects from a two-hour bus ride to Wauzeka.

The Warriors trio had 17, 16 and 13 points, respectively, in Black Hawk's 62-48 road victory over the Hornets. Goodman had one 3-pointer in the model of consistency that was Black Hawk's offense. The Warriors scored 15, 15, 15 and 17 points in the four quarters.

The Warriors restart Six Rivers East play Tuesday night when Barneveld heads to South Wayne with vengeance on its collective mind.

Monticello 53,

Belmont 41

The Ponies used a powerful second half to escape a non-conference scare at home Saturday versus Six Rivers West foe Belmont.

The Braves lead 19-16 at halftime when Monticello turned the switch and extend its winning streak to seven games with a 53-41 victory.

Dusty Ritschard and J.T. Meier had 11 points apiece while Ryan Fink added 10 to propel the Ponies.

Madison Abundant Life comes to Monticello tomorrow for another non-conference matchup.
