MONTICELLO - The Ponies had three scorers in double figures and earned their first girls basketball victory of the season, 43-37, over Johnson Creek on Tuesday.
Senior forward Sarah Silver led Monticello (1-1) with 12 points. Freshman Desiree Marty and sophomore Taylor Pfeuti each added 11 for the Ponies. Sadi Hilliard had seven points and Nicole Smith scored two.
Monticello took a 26-16 halftime lead and then held on for the non-conference win.

BELMONT - The Warriors (2-0) led 15-3 after the first quarter and 28-4 by halftime of this non-conference rout.
Black Hawk's Paige Butler scored 15 points to lead all scorers. Kim Wellnitz added 13 for the Warriors, while Gabi Lehner scored 10.
BRODHEAD 64, CLINTON 31
BRODHEAD - Dana Lewis continued to put the ball through the hoop for the Cardinals. The junior forward scored a game-high 22 points.
Kristen Ruchti scored 12 and seven other players also put points on the board for Brodhead (1-1).
The Cardinals led 21-6 after the first quarter and 29-12 at halftime.
Brodhead shot 13 of 20 from the free throw line.
BARNEVELD 56, NEW GLARUS 16
BARNEVELD - Freshman Alycia Atwell led the Glarner Knights with 8 points in the non-conference loss. Barneveld held New Glarus (0-2) to single digits in each of the four quarters and led 22-7 at halftime.
POTOSI 75, ALBANY 24
POTOSI - The Comets (1-2) never were in this non-conference game. Potosi limited Albany to single-digit scoring in each of the four quarters and led 43-10 at halftime.
RIVERDALE 54, ARGYLE 16
RIVERDALE - Kelsey Ostby scored 13 of the Orioles' 16 points in this non-conference loss. Riverdale jumped out to a 14-2 first-quarter lead and had a 35-6 advantage by halftime.
The hosts wewre led by Mallorie Jenson's 13 points. Alex Wiederholt added 12 and Alyssa Willey scored 10. Argyle dropped to 0-2 with the loss.
DARLINGTON 47, SHULLSBURG 33
SHULLSBURG - The Redbirds used an 11-4 first quarter run to propel them over Shullsburg.
Darlington (2-0), which led 24-13 at halftime, withstood a second-half rally to hang on for the win.
The Redbirds were led by Kelsey Fink and Katie Martin, who each scored 10 points.
