MONROE - Five area volleyball players in the Six Rivers East Conference received first-team all-conference accolades recently.
The first-team all-conference players named are Black Hawk senior Aleigha Sigafus, Argyle sophomore Ashley Bruehlman, Black Hawk junior Samantha Lovelace, Pecatonica junior Liz Tisch and Argyle junior Kayla Butler-Paulson.
Barneveld junior Teegan Pickarts was named the Six Rivers East Conference Player of the Year and was the sixth player named first-team all-conference.
Two players from Juda received second-team all-conference honors - juniors Sara Jordan and Alexis Goecks. The other second-team players were Monticello junior Jessie Garrison, Pecatonica senior Clara Moen and Albany junior Sayde McDermott.
Argyle won the conference championship and snapped Monticello's two-year run as conference champions. Juda knocked off Monticello to snap the Ponies' 32-match conference winning streak.
Argyle's two honorable mention selections were senior Katie Larson and junior Morgan Godfrey.
Black Hawk, which had three players who honorable mention all-conference, made a postseason run to the regional championship where the Warriors lost to Catholic Central. The three honorable mention players for the Warriors were senior Megan Gobeli, senior Kayla Sigafus and junior Jordyn Delzer.
Pecatonica seniors Britt Miller and Kailee Schraepfer were honorable mention as was Monticello junior Bri Graber and Albany senior Melissa Shunk.
