MADISON - Monroe lost its second game in a row Friday, a 39-37 heartbreaker to Madison Edgewood.
The Cheesemakers (1-2, 0-1 Badger South) fell behind 20-18 at halftime and trailed 32-26 after three quarters.
Kylee Ritschard scored a team-high 12 points for Monroe and fellow senior Kyleigh Sellnow added nine points. Kristin McArdle and Brooke McBain each scored six points and Abby Jacobson added four more.
Juda 47, Johnson Creek 31
JOHNSON CREEK - Ellen Kiser scored 20 points for the Panthers (3-1) Friday.
Juda led 13-4 after the first quarter and 23-14 at halftime. A 13-6 Panthers run in the fourth quarter put the game away.
Katlyn DeVoe and Aly Pierce each added seven points for Juda.
Albany 45, Potosi 37
POTOSI - The Comets went on the road Friday and picked up a quality win, knocking off Potosi, the perennial Six Rivers West powerhouse.
Courtney Pfeuti led Albany with 12 points. Sydney Bump scored 11 points and Cassidy Bump added 10 as the Comets move to 2-0 on the young season.
Black Hawk 55, River Ridge 31
SOUTH WAYNE - A 20-6 outburst in the first quarter Friday set the tone of the game for the Warriors (1-0).
Black Hawk's defense dominated River Ridge all night, allowing just 10 points before halftime and 14 after three quarters. Black Hawk led 35-10 at the half and 46-14 after the third quarter.
After that, the Warriors were able to go deep into their bench for the fourth quarter.
Senior Melissa Wellnitz and her sister, freshman Jen, each scored 14 points to lead Black Hawk. Rachel Rygh and Chaesta Shager each added eight points for the defending WIAA Division 4 state runner-up.
In other action, Darlington defeated Boscobel 58-32.
