ALBANY - The Albany volleyball team came through in the clutch for a comeback five-game win over Juda Thursday night.

Albany (2-5 Six Rivers East) led 13-8, but the Panthers were able to force a sideout. With the Comets leading 14-9 and at game-point, the Panthers again dug in and forced a sideout. Juda junior Tabatha Davis then reeled off four straight service points. Albany sophomore Felicia Caldwell delivered some key serves late and clinched the victory when the Panthers were called for an illegal hit.

"It was something the kids needed since they have all worked so hard," Albany coach Connie Wunschel said. "We thought we would just cruise when we were at 13 or 14. We had to work hard for every point. This was a very hard game."

Albany senior Kirstie Kauk had 15 kills and 20 digs. Senior Julia Farley had 15 assists and senior Carlie Peters had a team-high 30 digs. Sophomore Alexis Kennedy had 18 digs and junior Ashley Berra had three blocks.

"That's pretty good for a sophomore," Wunschel said of Kennedy's 18 digs. "I told her she is not playing like a sophomore anymore."

Juda (1-6) was led by senior Brittany Moe who had 16 kills, and senior Brianna Knudtson who racked up a match-high 44 digs.

Juda junior Jessica Jordan had five blocks, and senior Miranda Trotter had three aces.
