Argyle sweeps River Ridge

ARGYLE - Junior Cam Treuthardt had two hits in the first game and three RBI, and teammate Riley Ostby pitched a three-hit shutout in the second game to lead the Argyle High School baseball team to a doubleheader sweep of River Ridge on Friday.

Argyle won the first game 10-5 and the second 14-0 in five innings.

Argyle improves to 12-10 overall and 8-6 in the Six Rivers East.

Argyle junior Collin Argue pitched six innings in Game 1 to get the win. He gave up five runs on six hits and struck out five. Argyle's Mitch Flannery walked three times. The Orioles scored three runs in the first and two runs in the second inning to take a 5-1 lead.

In the nightcap, Ostby overpowered the Timberwolves with a three-hit shutout. He struck out 10 to get the win. Ostby also helped his own cause at the plate with three hits and three RBI.

Argue and sophomore Brent Ritschard each had two hits to lead the Orioles' 14-hit attack. Argyle seniors Will Herman and Andrew Schild each added two RBI.
